Green Nanostructured Corrosion Inhibitors for Steel in Saline and Acidic Media: Mechanisms and Effects of Concentration and Temperature: A Review
Vol. 13, Issue 1, Jan-Dec 2026 | Page: 54-75
Abstract
The increasing demand for sustainable corrosion protection has driven significant research interest toward green and nano-enabled corrosion inhibitors. This review critically examines recent advances in plant-based and bio-assisted nano-inhibitors, with particular emphasis on the influence of inhibitor concentration and temperature on corrosion inhibition performance. A comprehensive analysis of reported studies reveals that increasing nano-inhibitor concentration generally enhances inhibition efficiency due to improved surface coverage and adsorption stability, reaching optimal performance at specific concentration ranges.
